Bike rideThe Ride for the Refuge is an event to raise public awareness about domestic violence with the ultimate goal of ending the generational cycle of family violence. By joining Ellen Allen, Executive Director of the Family Refuge Center, Lewisburg, WV, you will be demonstrating your support for ending intimate partner violence through increased education and community awareness.

We need more events like those. I am surprised that it's not a fundraising event. That seems like a waste of a good opportunity to help some battered women and children shelters.

Russel, I passed your comment on to the Director, and she agrees. Next year it will definitely be a fundraising event.

Chris, we need as much public awareness as possible, and I try to do my part.
