Tell all your friends to beware of this new Phishing scam launching on Facebook today.  If you see a messge coming to you via either text message or email that asks you to click on a link to:

Do Not Click this link! http://fbaction.net DO NOT CLICK IT!

I was just sent a text message from my nephew today from Facebook.  It says it came from him and sent to 17 others (mostly family) and so I recognized the names and almost clicked it.  It didn't seem right, so I held off and sure enough it is a scam!

I am blessed that many of my family members are geeks, so they alerted me before I could do any damage.  My brother, John Paulson who is a great Realtor in the Seatle area for those of you that need one) sent me this link:

http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/04/29/phishing-attack-underway-at-facebook-dont-sign-in-to-fbactionnet/

It looks like companies are already in the process of banning and blocking this access to "fbaction dot net" but I wanted to give a heads up to my friends here on Active Rain.

Hey Jim,

Thanks for the mention!  As for our family having a lot of geeks, who is it that always has the newest and best cell phone?  Who is it that has the virtual-based company?  Yeah, you know who it is!  *smile*

Today's warning is again for Facebook: Do NOT click on any links for fbstarter dot com

It is another phishing link.

John

Thanks!  It's so darn hard to keep up and know what is legit and what isn't!  I'm way to technology challenged to shine in this area!  appreciate your heads up!
