TEEN FINANCIAL LITERACY

Understanding the critical importance of financial literacy, Nouveau Riche is taking a huge step in educating our children. Beginning in July, 2009, Regents Tuition Students will have the opportunity to bring their teens (one teen per Regents Student) to College for the new Teen Financial Literacy class-for FREE! Teenagers, aged 14-17, of Regents Tuition students will have the opportunity to participate in fun and engaging classes that utilize rich media to educate outside of the norms on topics like budgeting, living within your means, checking account management, fiscal responsibility, credit, and much more. Nouveau Riche believes in not only teaching the essentials on entrepreneurship and real estate investing, but also the fundamentals of financial literacy.  (1)

Tony,

What a smart endeavor!  How I wish we would have had a financial class like that when we were teens.  That certainly will make the youth of today's world more money savvy and hopefully make their future brighter.  After all, they are our tomorrow!

I think school districts need to incoporate financial planning/strategy classes in High school, so when kids come out of HS, they are prepared to handle their own money.

Hi Tony....if we can get to them in their teens they probably stand a better chance of attaining financial security than otherwise, great idea!

Jackie:  How are you doing now as an adult with financial literacy?

Johnny:  I do to but as long as the powers at be are in control, it will not happen.  That is why we are the first to offer such a class.

Terri:  Thank you!  Credit cards are evil.

Heath:  So have we.

Toula:  Thank you!

Gail:  You are correct!  This is the purpose of the class.

What a fabulous idea!  Thank you for thinking of our future generations.  I think what we do with our youth over the next few years will really determine where we end up as a country.  Change cannot happen if continue to perpetuate the cycle of credit dependence and living beyond our means.  How lucky for the teens in your area.  Now the trick is to market this nationwide and have state and local agencies grab onto it and teach our at risk youth. Great job Tony!
