Mike and Sheryl,

Stunning photo. As soon as I saw it and before I saw who had posted it I knew it had to be from Hawaii. :)

Hi Mike & Sheryl—What a beautiful mage from Hawaii... it really makes me homesick! I'll be there within a month and I can't hardly wait. Take care.

Mike and Sheryl - I remember Iao Needle from my visit to Maui.  I have a picture of it, but it isn't as spectacular as your's.

That's beautiful. Unfortunately, Hawaii is one of the few states that I have not yet been to. It will happen, though, maybe sooner than I think.

Thank you for all the great comments!

For those that are interested, the 2250 foot Iao Needle is a natural rock pinnacle that stands over the Iao stream, surrounded by the walls of the Pu'u Kukui Crater. It was once used as a natural altar. Iao Valley is a lush tropical area with easy hikes, exotic plants, and clear natural pools. The lookout offers a fantastic view of the valley and Kahului Harbor.

Wow - that photo is great!  It does not look like that thing is 2250' tall - that's amazing.  I've never been to Maui, but it looks like I need to plan a trip.  Your photos of the island really make me "need" some island time!  :-)

Mike - It is a bit deceiving, they measure from the valley floor which you can't see in the photo. Thanks for stopping by! - Mike

Janna - Come on over and get your toes in the water, it's a lot warmer than Lake Coeur d'Alene :-) Mike

You got me there! Actually this photo is at least 20 miles from the church and the weather varies a lot between here and there.
