Clearly NOT out of the woods yet.

Daffodil stars     With spring in full bloom it is easy to dream that the economy of the country is coming back to life as well.  There are some possible Plum blossoms in the spring in Seattleconnections between the feelings of rebirth inherent in the spring time and the power those feelings have to lift our spirits in ways that could impact our businesses and thus the economy of the country as a whole.

Daffodil stars     It is after all, our "attitudes" about the economy that will ultimately lift the economy out of its morass as much as any laws enacted to do so.  When things burst into bloom in the spring we are reminded of how strong the forces of Nature are for transformation of the barren landscape into growth and life itself.  The symbolism of these changes is not lost on people’s eagerness to get out in the sunshine, work in their gardens, hike in the mountains or get naked on the beach.

Daffodil stars     Last week I saw a metaphor of this rebirth as I was driving through Connecticut----when through the budding trees I saw a clear sign that we are not yet out of the woods----in spite of spring being in the air.  Daffodil stars

Glory in the trees

We definitely aren't out of the woods just yet with the economy. I do think we are on our way to better days though. You are right that it is important for people to have a good atitude about it and be POSITIVE!!

Hi Charles: here's my 2 cents about the economy: create the perception and the reality will follow.

Charles, You sure get around sir. Driving through Seattle, it is not uncommon to see homeless people sleeping under bridges. I first noticed these camps in 2003 when my brother-in-law pointed them out to me. He was charged with cleaning them out for the Dept. of Transportation. As soon as they cleaned it up, they moved back in. Those were in better economic times...

Charlie - We are not out of the woods but I'd hate to be the last home buyer he walks out after all the bargains are gone and interest rates have already climbed.  At the end of last week a mortgage rep had told me the rate went up a .25 % in one week.

Chad, negativity does not seem to help much:)

Matt, I agree

Paul----there have always been tons of homeless people in Seattle----lots of people living in cars, under bridges. Sad.

Carol---yes---sooner or later we have to realize that the "only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

It's all about perception and attitude. It's hard for people to be positive when there are so many doom sayers. It is funny how much power negativity has over our thoughts and actions.

Charlie,

I think people in Seattle might settle down a little if you spent less time naked at the beach, and down by Pike's Place Market. What a distraction.

James, people seem to find negativity "easier" I think.

Steve----trust me----I don't go there.

Kate, I would scream for you to come back but I used it all up at Steve's blog.

Charles, to change the subject just a bit, I've been wondering why that raven is shrinking so much.  Is he going away?   And then that duck is getting so big.  Have you no respect for those passed on?

It is looking better. The media seems to be pushing for a more positive slant and my daffodils are finally showing up from under the earth.

Barbara,Raven comes and goes but the duck goes on forever:)

Sabrina, the media could use a bit more of a possitive slant.
