Has Active Rain lost his "GOOGLE JUICE"

What is going on? Does anybody know?

I have a Google alert for my name and usually the same day I posted something on AR I got a Google alert in my e mail. This has not happened for a few month now and I was already wondering but yesterday I got really concerned. I posted on AR and discovered that I can know share it with my Wordpress blog (it has maybe 20% of the posts my AR blog has) Well I woke up this morning and here is a Google alert for my wordpress blog. AR is still nowhere in sight. I did a Google search, and the same thing happened my post showed up on the first page under my Wordpress blog and somewhere on the second page under my AR blog (keep in mind, AR is the original source)

SO, has anything like this happend to you too?

Should I blog on my Wordpress blog now instead of AR?

Anybody any ideas?

Would love to hear what you think.

Anne

I blog on both. In some situations wordpress ranks higher and in some AR. I do know that I have lost some momentum lately for no reason.

How do you link your AR blog to post on your wordpress blog automatically?

Well, at least I am not alone, I was wondering if I had something strange. . . .

Charlie I use the "ShareThis" feature so it is semi automatic I guess.

Why do you have to choose?  Why not post to both???

Lenn, I did, but I posted WAYmore on AR. I just saw that ShareThis has added WordPress and that it great. But the question still remains, ( and I did some more searches) my WordPress posts show up higher on Google and it used to be the other way around.

Anne, I noticed the same thing lately. I haven't gotten one in quite a while now. Let's see if I get one on this post.

Anne, I posted about this around two months ago. Never really did get an answer though. If you search, the posts seem to be indexed by Google but the alerts have gone away completely. Rich

I remember commenting on Richs post as well as a few others. Something did happen and I guess it had something to do with organizing the posts but it doesnt seem totally fixed either. It has got better. I would do what Lenn said and just post to both. I dont know that word press is inherently better in the eyes of google but if there is a temporary problem here that might be a temp solution.

Rich, Shane  I remember thepost and I also thought it was temporay, but it has been a few months now. What really surprised me was not that WordPress post shows up higher but the fact that it was an AR post and i just shared it with Wordpress. I think for the time being I will focus more on WordPress than on AR.

Anne, you are definatley not alone. I did two posts on AR last night. One on my WP blog. Never got a google alert from here or when anyone mentions my name in a post anymore.

The one on WP was indexed right away. I know they are there and indexed  but just not getting the alerts anymore.

Weird, huh?

I wish I could figure it out...but as others have commented this has been brought up before and no one seems to know the answer.

Well, the input to ActiveRain has probably declined significantly with new non-paying members posting only to MEMBERS ONLY and that's not going to get any or much Google juice.

However, I almost always post to PUBLIC.

Comparing my AR blog to my highest ranking Wordpress blog, they are about neck and neck.

ActiveRain, last crawled on May 4, PR3, 33 Backlinks

Wordpress, last crawled on May 3, PR3, 19 Backlinks

Has ActiveRain lost some Google juice, I suspect so.  Is it measurable?  I suspect not.

But, I'm no expert.
