What happens to your schedule if your broker changes theirs???

Since I started in real estate my broker J the best I might add, in my opinion has told me time and time again get a schedule and live by it.  This has been pounded into my head countless times by her and Ms. Carrie and Ms. Deb.  Well after a year I finally got a schedule and started to follow it.  During this time we had a contest going on and I was involved in it.  At the last minute the rules were changed (for good cause I might add) and everyone had to rearrange their schedules and plans to meet the new rules.

So given the scenario what would you do?  You could stick to your guns and demand the origional rules be adhered to.  But what would that accomplish?  You could bow out and leave the competition but then if you were in the lead or might win what would that accomplish?  So again I ask what you would do.  You follow the cheese.    You change your schedule; it's no different than the last minute change in a closing or getting a flat tire and being late for a showing.   Use whatever excuse you want to or fill in the blank and as my broker Ms. Marcella would say as she carries out the expulsion of the excessive amount of saliva (not really) and then say   "Move on" or "next." It's up to you if you're not flexible you're going to break do whatever you want but at the end of the day it's your decision remember; "It's a great day to buy or sell a home."

My grandmother always said - "if you want to play, follow the rules of the ballpark.  If you don't like the rules, go get your own ball park."

Hey James, we all need a flexible plan (schedule) to survive and prosper in this business

I think you should stand in one spot and holler and scream and then jump up and down in the same spot and holler and scream some more until they do it your way.  LOL

Yes Barbara I understand... we got to meet face 2 face 1 of these days... I would like to own a ball park and a pro team but alas I'm just a poor agent.. Hi Bill and that's the whole point of the blog but some are not willing to be flexible... you get it..

This one is funny to me! I dont like rules... and I "got my own ballpark" (when I owned my own company) but you see now I am back in the ballpark playing by other peoples rules... LOL! FOR ME - and I am just saying for me... I am not a schedule type person - never have been never will be... I like it that way but I am a super self motivated person that I get things done. I agree with our brokers that schedules are good for many - they are not good for all of us. Each person knows what they need and go with what works for you :)
