I managed to get a target site up to page one in just three weeks for the search, Temecula Web Design using what I'll call a Triangulated Blogging Strategy.
I used Google's blogger platform to essentially notify Google that a new blog entry was posted in one of my blogs. I didn't backlink to my target page on these posts (Sometimes I posted solo on a blogspot post with a direct backlink). Instead, I only linked to the other blog post.
On the target blog posts, I placed backlinks to my target website, http://davekeys.com. This site was just a personal site until I decided to start branding my name (Try typing Dave Keys into Google; My sites dominate the first pages.) Three weeks ago I started my campaign in earnest. The site began to float around between pages 4 and 2 of the SERPs. Then, suddenly, (must have been a major Google Dance last night) I appeared on page 1. Now I'm down to the bottom of page 1 so there may be some more floating between SERPs positions but the threshold has been crossed.
