How To Be The Icing On The Cake With Your Clients

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

CupcakeIn business we are all trying to differentiate ourselves constantly. Sometimes it seems like the differences are razor thin why someone might work with you over someone else. We need to know

How To Be The Icing On The Cake With Your Clients.

In simplest terms, you will stand out if, You Go The Extra Mile.

Do things others don't do. Take time with your clients explaining what is important to them. Do MORE than you promise. Under promise and over deliver. Follow up religiously. Be very consistent in your work habits, returning calls and emails promptly, getting the right answers when you don't know the answer initially. Work hard for you client and let them see that quality in you.

Sure we all can be a dime a dozen cupcake some times. But those that save their very best are the icing. The sweet stuff that makes them come to you every time.

People don't care about how much you know until they know how much you care.

OOOOOHHHHHH,

I can just taste the icing on that cupcake.  Of course I had to read this just when I"m thinking about what to get for dinner.

It's all common sense, right Gary?  But why do so many agents over promise and under deliver???

I think it is great to do more than you promise but PLEASE at least DO what you promise.

Gary ~ I like this - the icing on the cupcake.  I always follow-up promptly and I also bring a gift to my clients at my last visit to them.  It is either a pillow made out of the drapery fabric they picked, or something I know they enjoy from seeing similar in their home.  I also make it a point to write down their children's names so if we are doing one  of their bedrooms, I can have the name handy before I go in the house.  I did this one time and the teenage boy turned to his mother and said, "Hey, she remembered my name!".   I think that was the icing on the cupcake that day! : )

Great advice and if you can show people in your blog posts why they should hire you rather than take the attitude they will find out when they hire me can also help. I've seen so many here that don't tell who they really are and if we can't tell either can your potential clients.

Gary, your posts are always so right on the money!  When my staging partner and I staged a home recently,we gave the homeowner a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine (with our business card tied to it with ribbons). She literally jumped for joy and hugged both of us. Such a small thing; but not everyone who comes to her home to work on it will give her a gift...I think she'll remember us, and we will remember her, too.

Gary,

Under promise and over deliver...words of wisdom we employ in my coaching group. It's also a fun way to do business.

Gary:   You are singing my favorite tune with that "under promise and over deliver" line.  It's a great business practice.

Gary  - I think more people like the icing better than the cake itself. We all offer the cake. so, it's really how we dress it up and show unique personality that really makes the difference.
