Those pesky folks that call from time to time sometimes LIE LIE LIE!  Today was no exception.

Location: Chula Vista, CA

Didn't catch his name... don't really care.  But he told me he worked for Google.  Now do I think Google is gonna call me? 

I bet you don't think so either.  He told me that having my web site on the first page of Google only with my Linked In profile, my listings on Tulia, lakehouse, lakefrog, my website all on the first page meant NOTHING.  That he could MAKE people call me.  Have my phone RINGING OFF THE HOOK because that's what I wanted people to do, that I really didn't want them to click on my website. WHAT?

So I Googled his #, nada, nothing, reverse search showed it was a cell phone.  Caller ID showed ADV BUS MKTNG S

He told me he got my info from Active Rain.  So I thought I'd kindly pass this along so that IF you get a call you can hang up quickly after you tell him it's a NO NO to take our info from Active Rain for the purpose of solicitation.

Hi Tammy , I have gotten many lead generating and SEO phone calls -- I know they are getting our info from AR -- the other day this pesky  perky  sales woman asked " so what made you get into the Real Estate Business?"  and I told her "I like to work for free" she was laughing hard when I hung up the phone !

When I told "dude" he'd have to email me stuff, he said, this has to be done on the phone. What?  That's when I hung up on him.  I admit I've been suckered from time to time in my life... but it's been in person by someone who looked me straight in my eyes to lie to me, not falling for it on the phone.

Yesterday the guy was gonna get me a whole ton of hits to my website, I said, my weekly report showed 574 for the last week, he said, wow, how do you do that? LOLOLOL.

I usually don't listen as long as I did, but last week when I got the call from Lakefrog.com I ending up going and puting my listings on their site.  IT WAS FREE after all.  And so I guess I was feeling a little weak... so I listened and he kept saying You don't want people to click on your site or email you, you wanted them to call.  Just couldn't wrap my head around what he was saying.  But after he told me he worked for Google I was sure his pants were on fire.
