Special offer

Why do I care? Because it's a Big Deal! That's Why!

By
Real Estate Agent with United Country Ponderosa Realty, Red Feather Lakes, Colorado

I usually write a post every day, but I have not had one creative thought for 2 days.

Why?

Because, I've been writing offers and my thoughts have been consumed by buyers.

 Will their offer be accepted?

What might the seller come back with?

Will the seller really fix the plumbing?

What will happen at the inspection?

What will the survey show?

Why is my head filled with all of this?

Because

I saw that spark in the buyer's eyes.  I realized that they really want to own these properties.

I noticed them as they walked through the houses, back and forth, looking...maybe dreaming of their family living in this home.

I watched as they looked out the windows and doors at the mountain views and the lake.... I could tell they were really excited.

I saw them making notes and taking pictures, this is a big deal for them!

Before I became "one", I really had no idea if Real Estate Agents cared or not.  Sadly, I did think "they" only cared about their commission - and why wouldn't "they"?  That's the money that feeds their family, and provides their shelter - of course "they" care about that, but they also care about their clients.

So, shame on me for not knowing this before I experienced it myself and shame on you if you think that way too!   It reminds me of the old saying "walk a mile in my moccasins"

I see the care and concern in the agents I work with in my office, reflected by their clients who come back with hugs and gifts and after being in the ActiveRain community I can tell you that there are thousands of Real Estate Agents all over the country who care--- a lot!

I see it in their blogs, in their comments and in the way they reach out and support the members here and in their own individual communities.

Sure, there are some bad apples in every group - we should never judge the entire group by those few.

When I decided to get my license, I knew I had the background and knowledge to do a good job. I had no idea that I would meet so many nice people who turn into friends - or how much I would care about them or be so emotionally involved through each step of the negotiation process.

Walk a mile in my moccasins and you will know, that we may not show it all the time, (we are supposed to be professional - so we might not let you see us sweat) but we are anxiously standing by, we are waiting for the phone to ring for you, we want the outcome to be what you want and we are a group of professionals that care.

Why do I care?

Because Real Estate is one of the biggest investments you will ever make - it's a big deal - that's why!

Hi Mary!
First, congratulations on being features...VERY COOL!  Next...what a great post!  I agree that if only our buyers could see us when we are not with them!  We fret, we solve, we discuss...all so we can give our clients the best service possible.  I think clients could tell which agents are really there for the money, just by seeing how many brokerages the agent has worked for.  We have an agent in our area who has finally opened her own brokerage with her being the only member.  She has worked for every major and minor brokerage in town...that should say a lot in and of itself!

Geez Mary,

I'm kinda late getting here, eh?  Poor you, busy working on offers (hope your deals went together) and then having to answer all of these wonderful comments.  I'm sure everyone would have excused you for not replying so promptly.

You do have another life right????  You almost need a ghost writer to reply lol.  Congratulations on a well deserved gold star.

Dont you find the busier you get the luckier you get?

Hi Paula, Thanks for stopping by and the congrats!  You're right a lot goes on behind the scenes that our buyers don't see like the fretting, solving and discussing - that you mentioned!  But they will notice the great service and care that we provide!

The agent you mentioned must not play well with others :-)  LOL!

Hi Jenny, You are not late!  I don't think there is a time frame in which to comment:-)  HAHA-- Poor me...yesterday was a waiting pattern, so commenting was a good distraction... and guess what! still waiting!  Thank you for stopping by today, I appreciate it!

Hi Debra, Thank you --I appreciate your thoughts on the post.  Debra if any one of the offers would be accepted today, I would love to pass that news onto the buyer...... :-) Thanks for stopping by today, Debra!

Thank you Stacey-Ann!  I agree, when you no longer care it is time to move on!

I was telling my husband about 2 people I met today -- with tears welling up in my eyes, because they were telling me how much this lot that they were thinking about selling meant to them... he said "Mary, you're going to have to get a tougher skin"!  Well- he was only trying to help me --- but I don't think it's going to work!  Thank you Stacey-Ann for being another caring member of our great community!
