Hi Fellow Active Rainers,
We have made a very difficult decision to temporarily suspend access to HomeVisit.com. We hope to restore services today, May 6, 2009. We will communicate status to all HomeVisit customers via email.
Last week, our technicians detected a remote security breach to our servers from China. This incursion was a very sophisticated attack designed to cause our servers to distribute spyware to other computers. These attacks have been persistent and continuous. We are taking drastic and immediate actions to stop this from occurring. However, we cannot in good conscience allow our systems to be available while this condition exists. This is for the protection of all of our customers and users.
We understand that this disrupts HomeVisit services to you and your clients. We hope you can understand that we are all victims of these attacks. I ask you to please understand that this hurts HomeVisit tremendously as well and that we are doing everything in our power to resolve this quickly.
In particular, I ask you to be patient with our staff. They are under tremendous pressure and they have no control over the situation. All HomeVisit staff are on call and overtime status to do anything required to serve you.
I have engaged top-flight security experts to resolve this situation and ensure that we are protected going forward. We have operated for over 10 years without a major system outage and ask you to support us while we work through this unfortunate incident.
