This photo was taken on May 1st, 2009 on the road between Fromberg and Joliet, about 30 miles North of Red Lodge, Montana.  There is nothing like the smell of fresh air, good weather and some great views to make it a beautiful day and a joy to be working outside the office.  It's good to be here!!

Marian,

Thank you for the nice comments.   I have see these beautiful purple flowers at a lot of different places around here but I will admit that I do not know their name.  I will do some research and find out what they are named and get back.

Magical shot. That hill in the distance looks so powerful and dominating. But maybe that is because the shot was taken so close to ground level. Anyway - it is awesome!

Gerry,
That is a fabulous photo.  My brother went to Montana on a hunting trip a while back and he told me that it was hands down the most beautiful area he had ever visited.

Thank you for identifying the purple flowers in my photo.  Marian will be happy to know they are lavender and I will add that they smelled pretty good.

Mary,

I could not agree more with you that it is nice to see green after all of the winter snow.
