The other day we were blog-surfing and came across a checklist of seven areas to look into when hiring a virtual assistant. We asked ourselves these questions and were pleased with the answers:

  • The number of projects they have done 

We have about 230 completed projects, including several recurring weekly blogs which were counted as one for each site. And we add more completed projects every day!


  • Number of repeat customers 

At this time Prescott Group has about 20 repeat customers. Not bad for a relatively new company!


  • How do they communicate and report status? Are they available during my business hours or do you need to communicate with them in the middle of the night? 

Prescott Group co-owner Tricia Allenson keeps in contact with all clients via phone and email. She will even meet with you in person if you are in the Minneapolis area! She provides 1 on 1, local training and business coaching as well. Co-owner Chris Prescott provides training sessions for Real Estate Agents nationwide and can meet with you in person should he be in your area. Chris and Tricia are always available as a resource, consistently sharing new information and products with our clients.

The rest of our virtual assistant team will keep in touch, usually via email, about the progress of your one-time or on-going projects. When your project is complete, you will receive a completion notification email detailing the project, a link if applicable, and the number of hours used for the project.

Prescott Group team members are usually available during traditional work hours, although some of the work completed may be done in the middle of the night!


  • Do they take initiative? Do they seek you out in a professional manner to get selected for the project?

We use a variety of methods to gain new clients. This blog is one of the ways we network and seek new clients. We also use our professional connections established by Prescott Group owners Chris Prescott and Tricia Allenson’s real estate careers. We are also not afraid to market to potential clients that we have never met, via email and phone calls. If we hear that you are looking for someone to handle a new project or even just your day-to-day assistant tasks, we will present you with a proposal of our services, make suggestions, and sit down, virtually or in person, with you to create a project or bundle of services that fit your needs.


  • How long does it take them to do tasks?

We have a set amount of time that each of our tasks will be billed for. As an example, writing a blog post and publishing it to your blog is usually billed one hour. If you submit your blog post already written and we proof it and publish it, then we will bill 30 minutes. A newsletter design, including the first edition copy, usually takes 2 hours. Subsequent newsletters, with no major redesign work, are billed 1 hour.

Turnaround time will vary, depending upon the project and the urgency for its completion. If you need something done within 24 hours, we can make that happen if at all possible.
