Living in a golf course community in Kent Wa has its advantages and disadvantages. One BIG advantage is all that gorgeous, perfectly maintained lawn....that someone else takes care of.
I have lived in Meridian Valley Country Club since 2000. I don't golf. I am a member of the Social Club though which allows me access to the fine cuisine of the restaurant and the gift shop where I buy golf "stuff" at member prices.
The CC&R's are limiting, but not terrible. The reason this community is so nice is because of the CC&R's. Most of them are common sense, no parking overnight on the street, don't paint your house purple, keep your yard maintianed, no RV's or boats visible from the golf course or the street....
The original houses were built in the early 1970's but there are brand new homes also. The prices range from the low $300K's all the way to $3.6mil. Every style of home is here as well. There are over 400 homes in here.
The best reason I like living here is the security. There are 3 gates, one has a 24 hour security guard and the other 2 have gates that can only be opened by the residents, in or out. All guests must use the main gate where the guard is.
Yes, I like to talk to the golfers, heckle them sometimes. I am fortunate to live on the 11th hole, in a position that gets about 1 or 2 balls in the yard a year. Some houses get hit several times a day, that's a bad thing.
Another bad thing about living on the golf course is the lawnmowers. No sleeping in here, they start at 5:30am in the summer!
Living on a golf course in Kent WA is beautiful, secure, peaceful (except for the lawnmowers) and you get to enjoy fine food & wine without leaving home.!
