Bob - I could talk to you for hours about this. Here is my pick: The Deer Hunter - A classic...powerful, disturbing and one of my all time favorites. Very few on my list are rated as highly as this one. Mike

Mike although Canada only had a few thousand volunters in the Vietnam war we were deeply affected. The Deer Hunter hit me hard.

The Quiet Man is a great one, it took me nearly 8 years to get my wife to watch that one with me. She ended up loving it also, she just didn't want to see it because of John Wayne, sorry folks not your typical John Wayne film. Then the Bridge on the River Kwai is another excellent choice, both in my top 10 as well.

Wow ... I can't believe I've watched every one of those movies.  Makes me feel older. :)
They are all great movies, and definitely would be in my top 10.
"A Man for All Seasons" and "Oliver" are great as well.

Casablanca, Ben Hur, From Here to Eternity, Ghandi, Schindler's List........ Slumdog Millionaire ....

So many others I could add, but then we would be working on a top 100 list. :)

Tod: You have great taste.

Sylvie: More great movies. I have to watch Slumdog again. I rented it and couldn't get into that night.

Bob, I really liked Bridge over the River Kwai. Who can forget all that whistling that song? Then they destroy the bridge in the end.

Gary just the thought of the whistling puts right back in the theater. David Lean was a master a capturingnature be it jungles, deserts, or Russians Steppes
