I am working on branding myself better and getting a logo and name out there that people will remember... my brother who will be joing my team in the next few weeks came up with this first draft... (more logos/ideas will be posted so I can get an idea of what people like and dislike)

Shirley,

Thanks!  What do you think about the G logo above the name?  My wife says the font doesn't go but I think it looks good (maybe I am a little biased though!)

I like the star to go with Texas.  Also, I would make sure it faxes well.  That can be a problem with some logos.

Hey Big Nick - It has a good twist and the G has that professional spin.  Good luck when you decide and launch.

Cheers

I like the logo, but think, in the Dallas market, any name that includes "Home Team" has a very Ebby Halliday feel to it.  Their (well known) mortgage company is Home Team Mortgage.  Just a thought to consider.

Hi Nick, I like the star and everything there but what are the initials?? Is it a G and T?? If so where is the H? Yes, faxing is important too! Good Luck!

Fredy - I like it as well... Thanks for you input.

Steve -- I never thought about the Ebby Home Team Mortgage -- I will need to see if I can even use the name now.

Teresa -- it is just a G nothing else mixed in.  Thanks for your input!

Nick, You are so very lucky to have such a memorable name.

I like "Good" Home Team.  Could you have it located within the star and delete the initial?

I like the logo itself... but the G above it doesn't quite work for me. The two styles are just too different. But I really like the black and red and the star.

Nick -

Like the name of your time, of course.  But the stylized "G" is a little too confusing!

Maybe a tweak or two there is in order!  Include a line drawing of a house incorporated up there somehow - so they know you are in Real Estate?

Perhaps . . . but I am far from a Graphic Designer.

Good Luck - and let's see the Final Product!

I agree with Dean - I like the tag line and the star - but I had to take a second look because I was thinking GJ not G.

Nick,

Great job on the logo. Like everyone else above, I have a couple of thoughts.

I, too, wasn't sure about the "G" (it looked like there was more to it than just the one letter "G"). I understand the elegance of a scripted font...but here are two other choices which might work better.

There's also the aforementioned issue of the word "Team" and maybe even the star. It seems like a lot of "teams" nowadays are shying away from that word in favor of "Group", as in "The Hutchinson Real Estate Group" versus "The Hutchinson Team". It seems to impart a slightly more professional sound for some reason.

And, I would be a fan of the star (especially in your state!!)....IF it wasn't already used by 49,000 other Realtors throughout the state!!! LOL!!

The main concern I have, though, is that whenever creating a brand, remember what it is that you're wanting your audience to do.

REMEMBER YOUR BRAND AT A GLANCE!!

There are a lot of ways to do that. Color schemes, font selections, images, etc. And although I like the elegance of the "G", there are other ways to convey the same feeling, and potentially add to the disctinction between YOUR brand and someone else's who uses a G.

Here's an example of what I mean:

Just a quick idea to illustrate what I'm talking about. It uses the word "Group"...it imparts an elegant feeling and it doesn't use a star. BUT...it's immediately recognizable in comparison to the original logo above, know what I mean?? And you could easily build a memorable brand around it (postcards, brochures, signs, etc.)

In any case, I hope I've at least given you some food for thought! Your branding is VERY important as it can help separate you from the rest of the pack. And if used well on ALL of your marketing materials....you can either create quite a splash...or not. Yikes!!

Best of luck!!! I'd be interested in seeing what your final logo looks like!!
