Oh I don't care where you are in your life, your age, your profession where you live on this big blue ball we call Earth... if you want to do more than just exist then you need to have a plan. Yes I mean a plan, a reason, a purpose, a dream, something you aspire to do, to become, a destination. I see people everyday that just breathe air and eat groceries they have forgotten how to live, the world has not been nice and they have just dropped off the radar of the living into the abyss of the just barely existing. They just float by and what ever happens they are just along for the ride, they have stopped creating and causing and now are just one of the many docile passengers (possibly not happy but nevertheless not putting up much if any fight) on this big bus called life.
Recently I have found myself in a rare position of influence, a place of gentle guiding and I want to be worthy of the spot and be the best encourager I can be. How do you help someone from just existing back into the land of the living, well they need hope and dreams, permission to dare to imagine the what if's... and the what could be's again. I have suggested the 10 big idea system. You know the 10 current, attainable goals that could actually become reality. 10 dreams, or short range ambitions that could easily be accomplished, so one could pull themselves up by the boot straps so to speak.
One can start by looking into themselves and wondering, what if anything would I like to see in my near future? Spending quality time with family and friends, traveling to the mountains or the beach, taking a long and introspective walk, making amends with someone, taking a class, painting a picture, writing a book.... Well every dream starts somewhere stop procrastinating and begin, make a list, with 10 short terms objectives, then take each wonderful task and begin living again. Remember once you have crossed an accomplished goal off your list be quick to add a new dream, so that your list grows in actions, and helps to ever increase your desire to thrive and live again. You will soon be pleasantly surprised how much you can really accomplish (both personally and professionally) once you give yourself permission to do more than just survive.
Dare to Dream Again...
