Raleigh Radon Testing using the E-Perm system

By
Home Inspector with Clear Choice Home Inspections, Inc
We performed a Raleigh Radon Testing service a few days ago and found radon levels right at 4.0 (the EPA's limit). In this case, we will install long-term monitoring equipment just to make sure there was not a spike in levels for some reason. Our Raleigh Radon Testing equipment is the most accurate available. We do not use charcoal canisters that are affected by humidity, temperature, etc. Plus those canisters are only accurate to 20%. We use the E-Perm system; consistently the most accurate during EPA testing. For Radon Testing and Home Inspection services, contact Clear Choice Home Inspections.

Many in the Raleigh area have slightly elevated levels and a smaller percentage have levels greater than 4.0.  I have found in Raleigh that have radon levels of 8-10.  Sometimes from house-to-house the radon levels can vary greatly so just because the neighbor does not have a problem, it does not mean you are clear.  Testing before purchase is a small price to pay compared with the cost of mitigation when you sell.  Not to mention the health concerns.  Thanks for the comment.

We also are usually clear in the Lynchburg, VA area, but there are isolated areas where the radon levels are elevated. Best to test to make sure.
