Looking through the Realtor Magazine, I came across an article about the things we can do to help ourselves during the recession: I am going to condense and pass on the points.
- Decide to be Succeed; we have been told time and again that the way we think determines the reality we experience. Get excited about what you are doing and convey that excitement to your prospects.
- Where is your Market Going: Take a look at where the business is, and decide what you need to do to get your share of the market, or as much business as you want. Have pricing down cold and be willing to educate sellers and buyers , this article suggests.
- Do You Have the Knowledge you Need: Look for low-cost education from the association, webinars, and guest speakers at meetings. The other suggestions are to visit REALTOR.org for updates.
- Support Each Other: Our office has a meeting every Thurs. We don't call it a Support meeting, however, it really is, and if you don't have this kind of support I suggest you start a Support Group. You have to be willing to share honestly and help each other also, make sure you end it on a possitive note!
- A Reason to Use You:Is there a compelling reason to use you? If not put your imagination to work and come up with some! How about offering, credit-repair, or short-sale, clinics in your area, Host a seminar to cover local and federal incentives, You might team up with a stager or interior designer to hold an evening of low cost decorating ideas! Develop a workshop for people who want to invest in foreclosed properties.
- Work on Personal Finances: Of course get a free credit report at; www.annualcreditreport.com . Shop for better rates on insurance and credit cards. Pay off debts, and look at where you can cut costs, one of the best ways to do this is keeping a record of expenses for a week, evaluate and then cut where you can.
- Your Image: Ask a Sister or Friend to help you clean out and go thru your closet, Make a list of what you need and keep it with you! Sell some of the old things, Craigslist, Consignment, or ebay. An updated hair style that doesn't have a lot of expensive upkeep, is a plus at any time! Clean out and wash your Car every week! Smile At Everyone! It doesn't cost and it makes everyone happier, especially you!
