referral network, how to get most of the referrals you request

it is very easy to request a referral in the referral network, and what I'm finding is most agents "even those who claim to go the extra mile for their clients," don't go the extra mile when requesting a referral out of the referral network. If you follow these 4 simple tips tricks and strategies you should find you are getting more of the referrals you request.

 

                                                                     

  1. read the referring members profile and most recent blogs. take notes on them as well as their customers needs read the extra notes this should help you for steps 2-3.
  2. using your notes on the customers needs write a blog or two that are geared towards that customers needs. so if they are relocating for example write a blog with information that a relocating consumer would want to know about your area be sure to talk about schools including the sports teams also crime rates and community events in your area.
  3. as long as the referring member hasn't asked that you don't call them regarding the referral you should call them and use the notes you took on their profile and blogs to build some report with that member. it's also a good idea to ask them if their is any thing else they can tell you about their customers needs. end the call by letting that agent know you have written a blog specifically for their client and that you will be including the link to that blog as well as your cell phone number on the referral request message and could they please have their customer read your blog because it would answer allot of their questions. also have them call you on your cell if they would like to discuss this referral further.
  4. finally you are ready to send them the referral request message make sure to mention you had spoken with them on the phone about this referral all ready,  and include details of the conversation include the link to your blog as well as your cell phone number. Be sure to include the reasons why you are the best person in your area to take care of this clients needs. lastly ask them to call your cell phone if they would like to discuss this referral further.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

the reason this works better then just going in and sending a request for the referral is because you have now gone the extra mile for both the referring member and their client before you even had any sort of obligation to them. It is always harder to say no to a friend or associate then a perfect stranger and by calling the referring member you have solidified yourself in their mind as at least an associate, and you have taken a direct interest in both their profile info and recent blogs. If the referring member did show your blog to their client and then decided not to give you the referral for whatever reason, you have now given the client the opportunity to say hey what about the person who wrote that great blog you showed me. why don't you give them my business they deserve it! So go the extra mile take these tips to heart and practice them. Hey Steven!! Enjoyed your referral blog. We have 217 agents at KW and they often email and ask, "do you know a good agent in.....whatever city?" I always send them a note to search Activerain first. I get a real understanding of the agent by reading their blog.
