Kahuku Shrimp Farms, Shrimp Trucks and MORE!

Kahuku Shrimp

Drive along Kamehameha Highway around the Kahuku area and you'll find many shrimp farms. Along side each shrimp farm you'll usually find their Kahuku Shrimp Truck that sell live or cooked shrimp to the public.

kahuku shrimp farmFumi's and Romy's are two favorites of mine for a lunch plate. Rice, skillet garlic/butter shrimp and voila! A wonderful fresh shrimp lunch!

Kahuku has many shrimp farms that are built inland from the ocean although they are filled with salt water to raise the shrimp. They typically have two to three harvests a year.

Kahuku is also known for their agricultural products and you'll find many stands with fresh produce. KAHUKU SWEET CORN is most notable for us central Oahu residents to travel to this side of the island to get.

Woo Hoo! Another secret revealed to you. I don't eat seafood of any kind. In fact, if it grows up or out of water, I don't it eat. Someone said, that what I just said couldn't be a true statement. You eat rice don't you? I suggested to that what I said is almost 100% accurate. Now what to do with the cranberries that I do eat.

I will say this. When ever I hear the word shrimp which 99.99 % of the people on earth love, all I can think of is the little creatures I used to put in fish tanks to clean the fish doo doo off the bottom. That and Bubba's Shrimp boat in Forrest Gump movie, lol.

Sally - Cool! Shrimp are a fave of mine. Not sure we have those types of farms here - just shellfish in Carlsbad. Terrific pics, as always. You sure bring a lot of life to your Localism posts in Hawaii.
