Social Media & Flies--Catching them with Active Rain & Honey Works BEST!

Initially when the rave for social media seemed just that--THE rave--I was a bit resistant. It seems that so many barriers were standing in the way of my figuring each new 'thing' out and I just didn't have the time, nor the inclination.  I have to admit though, that I've found an interesting correlation to those in the real estate business who are successful with the full scope of social media and Active Rain--positivity.

 

Had I never joined Active Rain, I probably would have continued down the path of thinking that Twitter and Facebook were for those who are my children's ages!  I would have continued to 'scope' it out to be sure that my boys were behaving there but, never would have, myself, joined, muchless participated!

 

Had I never joined Active Rain, I probably would have continued to believe that LindedIn was for those looking to solicit their business and not to utilize it as a tool to actually establish business relationships and maintain them.

 

 

On a daily basis, we find SO much here on Active Rain to learn and to build our businesses.  We have been brought from simple blogging to becoming masters in social media networking.  Social media tutorials are ALL over the place here--you can search on any of the top media networks using AR's search engine and find more information than you can imagine--about establishing a new social media account, maintaining that account and building upon it--and just about anything that you ever wanted to know about it!  We have AR members who 'mother' us along and readily share their wisdom and infinite knowledge with us.  What other social media network does this?

 

Once you've learned the newest form of social networking, you can search for the next one and build upon that one.  It's all here for the taking--now all you have to do is maintain your grandmother's lessons and remember, "You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar!"  Keep in mind as you're learning and participating in ALL forms of social networking that the internet is forever--your potential clients are going to MUCH prefer reading kind words from you than you being unnecessarily rude to someone.  

You're jeopardizing your reputation each and every time you speak ill of or to someone else on any network. Remember,  "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!"
