After showing one of our log vacation listings nearby, went to the Lake White area south of Waverly, Ohio to take some photos of the recreational opportunities for a client. Found a most interesting mix of classic and newer lake community homes, and discovered one of those must-stop-and-see timeless lakefront dining spots....the since-the-1930's Lake White Club. You won't feel like a stranger there for more than a few moments after stepping inside and through the old log cabin (logs from the 1820's) entry...(thanks, Audrey), and the table side service is as attentive and helpful as you'd ever want (thanks, Nancy). Tried one of the house specialties, roast turkey, and would certainly order it again. The one-of-a-kind coleslaw, fresh hot rolls, and broth entrees are also well beyond the ordinary. We'll be back to try some of that famous chicken, along with the filet and broiled orange roughy. And while taking a few photos after dining, one of the Lake's longtime residents (thanks, Bob) came up and introduced himself, explaining how he'd been there when the dam was built.
