As we are now in the Memorial holiday weekend and tonight is our first public performance of our annual "Freedom Celebration" a program honoring area servicemen and women and thanking God for our freedom and our country. As we honor them for their sacrifice, we also point them to Jesus as the one sacrifice who gives us freedom from payment for our sins.
"Freedom Celebration" in the past has brought in the old, the maimed, service families left behind
, the newly enlisted young and brave and those who emotionally have never recovered from their battles. They will come to hear the music, get their gifts or for a time to socialize with others in their respective divisions. We will love on them and honor them and tell them the truth about real freedom. It won't be "in your face" and the spoken message will be the shortest part of the program. But God will be there, every song, every skit will be permeated with his Spirit. The "fallen soldier" ceremony can touch the hardest heart. Pray with us that their eyes and ears and hearts will be open to receive Him as Lord and Savior. Tomorrow we perform again at 2:00PM.
