Don't Worry...Be Happy.

Remember that song.  It came out in the late 70's or early 80's from what I can remember.  It had kind of a Jamaican flavor to it.  I HATED IT!  Times were not easy.  Economy was worse in many ways and some clown was telling me to walk around and SMILE!

FAST FORWARD....

I look at today's economy and it isn't much different.  But with age, I have learned instead of dwelling on the bad...look for the good.  It's OK to smile.  People like it when you smile.  A smile can open many doors.

What this song is implying is very simple...Chin up...smile...have a positive attitude.  Things could be worse and for many are. Forge ahead to better days.

The basics of that song still hold true, even though "I" still find it annoying.

I am sorry to hear that. I liked the Bobby McFarrin song then and I still do. Lord knows there is enough negative reinforcement out there in the news everyday. We all need to be reminded sometimes that we are in control of our own happiness. SO BE HAPPY NOW!

;)

One must refuse to participate in this recession. WE have to do our part to improve things in our own littel world. One person at a time

No whining just winning is my saying. Some of the greatest fortunes in the world were started in the first great depression.

Really did not like that song - there must be others - wasn't there one with "chin up" in it?

bob marley

You could always try the Bob Marley classic "Everythings gonna be alright" I have found that most songs by "the red headed stranger" make me feel mellow and calm. He might be a better fit for your c/w style.

I also did not care for that song...but there's another one that I love..."Forget your troubles come on get happy.."  That's actually an upbeat church song "we're waitin' on the judgment day.  Sing hallelujah come on get happy...'!  I know what I'll be singing today!

I believe in remaining positive and looking at the bright side, but like you I find that song to be quite annoying my friend.
