Fire Season is Around the Corner

We are finally seeing some nice daytime temperatures and with the warm weather comes the threats fo fire.  Packing an evacuation kit prior to an emergency is a great way to reduce your stress level at the time of evacuation.

There are many items you may need that when under stress you may not think to take.  Placing these items in the same safe location may make it much easier and less time consuming should you need to evacuate.

Be sure you are prepared for Central Oregon fire season.

Do you have to worry about this every year? I never thought about an evac kit for fires. We have to prepare for hurricanes. I actually keep extra bottled water and canned goods at all times... and stuff for the animals.

Thesa, That's a great idea.  We have a hurricane preparedness kit ready.  I guess it depends on the area you live in as to what you need to prepare.

Lisa - yep every year... I live in the middle of the forest - and Oregon actually has more public land than most people realize and around me it is mostly treed... in my area there is actually more public land then private land - we are surrounded by trees and forests that are so over grown it is impossible to know when it will strike... when they stopped logging because of the spotted owl we made a huge mess..

Marchel - It is amazing what all of us live with every day!
