Preparing Your Home To Show

By

View your home as potential buyer would. First impressions are lasting! Curb Appeal sells. Keep the lawn trimmed and edged. Fresh paint the front door.

Jezz it up inside. Most buyers are attracted to homes offering Move-in condition & pleasing colors.

So, what should you do? here's some ideas to help you through the process:

* Clear all unnecessary objects from furniture throughout the house. Keep decorative objects on the furniture in groups of 1,3 or 5 items.

*Clear all unnecessary objects from the kitchen countertops. clear refrigerator fronts of messages, pictures etc...

* Bathrooms need to sparkle. Replace caulking in bathtubs/showers. Remove unnecessary items from countertops, tubs and shower stalls. Coordinate towels to one or two colors only.

* Rearrange or remove some of the furniture if necessary, as owners mant times have too much furniture in a room. We need to thin out as much as possible to make rooms appear larger. This includes the basement, garage and storage areas.

* Go through the house room by room and paint any room that needs painting, clean carpets and drapes if needed, clean windows, eliminate any unappealing odor like pets and sigarette smoke. You might want to try and bake bread or cookies the day of the showing.

Good Luck and Happy selling.
