Once a month I get together with a group of other professionals to discuss business and generally support each other's business efforts. This began as a formal networking group, but when the network disbanded, a few of us decided it would be good for our business to keep meeting. We still network, but I regard the group as more of a professional support group. We all have growing businesses and I value the advice these other professionals have to offer. This has turned out to be a great idea and I suggest to everybody to find a group like this. Does anyone else have a similar group they belong to? How is it working out?
Hi Vera,
Good post. Actually I belong to a couple of networking groups, however they are entirely different than my "mastermind groups".
About 8-9 years ago I called a colleague whom I completely respect, also a fellow CRS Realtor in Orange County. We met in the early 80's at a prior CRS event. I asked her to lunch and proposed the idea of brain-storming and exchanging ideas. That was the beginning, we still meet monthly now there are 8 of us in total.
Each and every person was personally invited. We have some specific criteria, first and foremost they must be willing to share. Over the years a few have come and gone, and that's just fine. This is just one of the two groups I belong to, we both meet monthly. Both are mastermind groups and not just networking.
Hi Vera,
I am about to start a group like this.
What professionald do you have in your group, and how often do you meet?
Ginger
Hi Ginger,
Right now we have a lender, printer, chiropractor, investment counselor, CPA, and Realtor. Our group is small since we meet in restaurants and want each person to be personally involved. A new member can be invited and approved by the others before they are formally accepted to join. We will include a computer person at our next meeting and a lawyer would be another good person to add.
Good luck with your group.
