Historically more paint is sold this weekend than any other time of the year. Many Realtors will be quite busy showing homes and writing contracts. Others take the time to relax. Most importantly all us should remember what the weekend is really about-and it is not to kick off the summer season.
For some ideas of what to do this weekend you might want to check out Memorial Day. Org where they remind us how to properly observe this day. Among the thoughts there are some things we all could do:
- by visiting cemeteries and placing flags or flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes.
- by visiting memorials.
- by flying the U.S. Flag at half-staff until noon.
- by flying the 'POW/MIA Flag' as well (Section 1082 of the 1998 Defense Authorization Act).
- by participating in a "National Moment of Remembrance": at 3 p.m. to pause and think upon the true meaning of the day, and for Taps to be played.
- by renewing a pledge to aid the widows, widowers, and orphans of our fallen dead, and to aid the disabled veterans.
Maybe you will just want to watch the National Memorial Day Concert on PBS.

Whatever you and your family do this weekend. Please remember to remember.
