Swimming to catch the boat I just missed!

So do to an accident I had a period where I was not as active on ActiveRain. Now three months later I realize my basic blog needs an upgrade but where do I start?

I think pictures are valuable but I see that there are links to key words and so much more. I have picked up my speed to catch up with this crazy boat but I'm really starting to flounder a bit. Maybe because I'm just frolicking in the ocean and just haven't seen the value of these details.

What type of classes are there to help me catch up?

  • Is it essential to have all the details?
  • Where do you get all the great pictures?
  • What is the deal with the Tags and linking them?
  • My home page is boring how do I spruce it up?
  • What is the value of paying for ActiveRain?
  • What other things do I need to know?
  • Please tell me what I'm missing in my blogs, I don't get many comments anymore.
  • Are there people available who have an expertise

I know successful people love to share their success, ActiveRain is the breeding place for that. So with that said, please help a girl out.

Thanks,

Catherine Eusea

If you write about local properties and local issues, prospects will see them if you post on Localisms. You must have exposure to the public if you want buyer calls. Use the ActiveRain feed to post automatic links for your blogs on Twitter and use the Facebook application to Twitter so your ActiveRain links will also appear on your Facebook wall. Good luck for great success! It is a wonderful time for home buyers and their agents.

I think bloggers need to add in the details as you are comfortable doing so.  I think of blogging like juggling just keep learning to do a bit more within a post and the value of the posts will increase.

Use ActiveRain's "search"  to find posts about sources of photos, how to post, webinars about blogging.

Someone's posted about each thing you ask about in your post.

IMHO comments are not the measure of a blogs success... might be a bit different for you being a lender than it is to a real estate agent talking to consumers.

Get too focused on your popularity as a blogger or in social media and you worry less about good content and worry more about comments, subscriptions, friends and followers than you do about content.

To me the mortgage blogger to watch on ActiveRain is Mike Jones in Tucson.  Gimmick free and he is  engaging consumers and real estate professionals with his posts.

Hi Katherine~ I am still trying to figure it all out too!  I do know that consumers are reading, even though they don't comment because they call me or email me and tell me so.  Also, I have gotten clients from it and even made thousands of dollars because of it. Besides the business I am getting, I learn so much in here every single day!

Localisim posts dont get comments, but check your statistics on your home page, you can see how often they are viewed.  and to get comments, you need to make comments and make some friends in the rain... Most of my comments come from my "groupies" often it is just to say "hello"
