Ok, I admit that I went to the first Star Wars movie when it came out in 1977 and loved it. All that action, the modern special effects -and it had a real story line. (Unlike it's later incarnations) Wow, in the late 70's it was the best- but I never thought it would be a teaching tool.
Remember the part when Obi Wan first uses the force to make the storm troopers go away? He just waves his hand tells the trooper what he wants him to believe.
Now don't you wish you could do that in your life? You can!
Just act as though it has already happened. Believe that you will have clients, you will sell that 3 bedroom 1 bath home that smells like cat-pee in just a matter of days. (Oh sure you say) Yes! Most of our actions come from what actors call "subtext" or what is inside of the action or words. If your "subtext" is doom and gloom, then the action and words become doom and gloom no matter what you words are saying. For example, if you tell a prospective client that you would be happy to help them, but you head says "This place is a dump" how well do you think you will do? Not well, because most folks can pick up on your meaning. What is more, you pick up on the meaning and perform accordingly.
So next time you say, "I can't ever sell this house" or "The market is horrible" know that you are creating your reality with your inner beliefs. Tell yourself that a buyer will be just around the corner and that you are doing great and Presto! it will happen.
Last February I took a listing that had been on the market for over a year. I just tweeked a few things on the marketing and POOF a buyer was there and ready in 19 days. I had told the client that I would sell her house quickly and BELIEVED it.
Last Summer I was in a major slump. Then I stopped telling myself that I was in a slump, that the market was bad, and that I was a failure as an agent. Guess what! I am busier than ever now. My phone rings off the hook and I am writing contracts and closing deals every month. Use the Force my friends; wave your hands and say that I am a successful agent. This is the best time for Real Estate EVER! Then poof, it will happen.
