Candidates must score 80 or higher to pass this test; certification is valid for three years from the date of testing. The certification is administered by CSIA (Chimney Sweep Institute of America) is a non-profit educational organization existing to provide chimney and venting safety resources to those in the industry and to you, the homeowner.
The exam is based on a reference manual containing up-to-date technical information on dryer vent cleaning, maintenance, repair and installation. The credential signifies knowledge of practices important to providing the best service on dryer vent exhaust systems in an ever-changing industry.
