I just ran the numbers for the first 24 days of May. Home sales in Maricopa county continue to surpass the sales of 2008. For the 30 day period ended May 24, 2009 8,400 homes were sold. This was a 72.5% increase over 2008. With multiple offers in place for homes in this market the inventory of currently Active single family home listings in ARMLS numbers less than 28,000. In January we had over 60,000 listings. Is this a sellers market or what?
2009 is a great time to purchase a home at very affordable pricing. Homebuyers and investors alike continue to purchase houses here in west Maricopa county. Add the NTE $8,000 First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit and this is a super time to purchase your first home.
