Memorial Day Tribute

By
Real Estate Agent

As Realtors, many holidays are just another work day for us.  We hold open houses, show homes, go on listing appointments and hopefully write contracts as well.  There are other professions that work on holidays too.  Today, my pastor brought it all home, when he spoke of his uncle he never met.  An uncle he only heard stories about.  An uncle who wrote his last note on the back of a candy wrapper before he went into battle the next day and gave his life in his early twenties for our country.  Today we prayed for all of those who serve to protect our country.  They don't get holidays off.  We prayed for those who have given their lives so that we can experience the freedom that we have.  We also prayed especially for the families of the more than 3000 men and women who have died in recent years serving our country, knowing their grief and pain is still fresh.  So as we go about the business of real estate this Memorial Day, let's all pause and give thanks for the soldiers who have given their lives, those who have served, those who are presently serving and those who love them and the sacrifices they have made.  Have a safe Memorial Day!

Great post and good thing to remember those who have given up their lives for us. My brother served in the green berets and loved it but he has always been on the adventures and crazy side. I thank all those that have served this great country.

Dan,  My youngest son, age 21, is wanting to enlist in the next few months.  While I know it is a good and honorable thing, I also know it will be difficult knowing he is in harms way every day.  I cannot imagine the grief and pain of those whose loved one has died serving our country.
