Appraiser chasing the lender

An appraiser should not limit themselves to chasing around only lenders. There are many of other agencies in need of a Real estate Appraiser. Attorneys use Real estate Appraisers for settlement cases. I was enlightened while talking with John Perret of Epernay Int’l appraisal when he mentioned that most of his work comes from attorneys. Yes mortgage plays a bigger role in the Real estate appraisal market. But the mortgage market is saturated with Real estate Appraisers who only campaign to the mortgage lenders. Attorneys are usually limited to a couple of Real estate Appraisers. This is due to the lack of Real estate Appraisers campaigning themselves to attorneys. Some attorneys have to search for an appraiser that will work with them. I’m guessing this is because the only media source “the internet” that an appraiser uses for resources don’t touch these other areas at all.
