A Whole Lotta Bloggin' Goin' On!

Real Estate Agent with RLAH Real Estate AB95346

On June 10, 2007, I joined Active Rain and wrote my first post.  Today, I'm at RE Bar Camp in Philadelphia and when I signed on to AR and went to "My Home", I realized that my next post (this one) would be Number 1,000!

So here I am, learning about video, with James Downing (also blogging) on one side and Margaret Woda on the other.  And while I don't normally note these kinds of milestones, this is a pretty darned big one!

It's a tribute to the highly addictive qualities of Active Rain.  And it's also kind of a journey for me - learning about how stuff is done in other parts of the world, improving my writing skills, getting into photography, and meeting some amazing people along the way, both on line and in person.

Later -

It's now Thursday and I'm home from Philadelphia.  And before posting this, I thought I'd remember a few of my favorite old posts that I wrote and then sort of forgot about along the journey.

From July 16, 2007, my first post that was featured in Localism, How I Learned that Lead is Really Bad Stuff.  It tells the story of a buyer whose cat got really sick from lead poisoning during a renovation.

From July 26, 2007:  Type-A at the Beach talks about how technology helps us to have a better vacation.  Or does it?

August 25, 20007, I wrote Saints Preserve Us about the various patron saints who help us to find buyers for our listings and perfect homes for our buyers, with St. Anthony being my personal assistant in the matter.

On September 9, 2007, "Two Buck Chuck" as a Metaphor told the story of a major upset in the wine making world, as a bottle of Charles Shaw 2002 Shiraz won the coveted Double Gold Medal in the 28th annual Eastern Wine Competition, beating out 2300 wines, some of them quite snooty!

Perhaps my all time favorite was September 24th, 2007, Should You Let Carl Kasell Record Your Voice-mail Message?  Unfortunately, the guy it was meant for never read the post!  Oh well!

So to all of my blog buddies, I'm looking forward to the next thousand or so posts.  Blog on!

1000?  Wow.  Addiction city.  I'm staring up at the bottom side of ten posts.  I'll think that is a milestone.  I'm already addicted I'm sure.

Hope it doesn't turn out to be a millstone in disguise.

Hey Pat, wow, that is fantastic! I only have... 834 to catch up to you. I don't know about all those featured posts that you have... let me do some cypherin... an average feature every 15.625 posts... and I have... a feature every 33.2 posts...I think I need a few bottles of Two Three Buck Chuck to get me through this.

Whaaaaaaaaaaa, I will never catch up! But, if you pursue this relationship with you know who (and you still got some splanin to do) your posts may slow down, and those of us that are so far behind might stand a chance, slim but still a chance of catching up to you!

However... the whole point thing makes it seem akin to climbing Mount Everest with no gear or guide.

But you do deserve it, so congratulations, and I really do hope to be chasing you on AR for many years to come!

You got that right. Those who take AR seriously probably spend more time at the computer than might be good for us.
