Take a Risk!

Real Estate Agent with HomeSmart International AZ Broker BR030809000

Opportunities are everywhere!  All you have to do is think like a kid. Tonight as my husband and I sat down to talk about our day, he started telling me about all the 'daring' things he did as a kid. He kept telling me story after story (that I hadn't heard before). That's when the light bulb went on!  This is exactly the stuff that grooms good real estate agents from the time they are kids. Take a Risk!

Take a risk. Do something fun and scary. Be stupid without knowing it. Be inspired.

Take a Risk!

Find a big old tire tractor inner tube and cross the lake. As he told me the story of when he and his buddies found an tractor inner tube and decided to cross a reservoir the smile on his face grew bigger and bigger. He told me of how exciting, scary and totally stupid the whole idea had been. He got up and started showing me how hard it was to navigate the inner tube with a bunch of boys on it.  And how they got stuck in the middle for awhile but figured out how to move on.

Now the next story is a bit bad and funny at the same time.  These kids grew up in a small town in Nebraska with a little stream running through it.  One summer afternoon the boys thought it would be cool Take a Risk!to pole vault the stream.  But how could they do that?  After much talking they decided to go to the local lumber yard and find wooden poles.  Here is the bad part.  Each boy had to find their own pole and throw it over the wall as they had no money.  Bad idea boys!  After they all secured their pole they headed over to the river and spent many hours and days learning to pole vault over the river.  Are you getting the picture here?  Learn something new and be be like a kid trying to pole vault over the river....determined.  Attitude is Altitude.

Take a Risk!

Can you figure out what these kids are doing in this picture

Catching frogs.  My husband actually started his story telling tonight with this fun story.  He told me when he was about 8 years old he and his buddies had fun ccatching frogs day after day in the summer. As a girl, I looked at him thinking...huh?  Catching frogs is fun?  But it was a blast hearing him share the funny scenes that went on in the frog catching episodes.  Then it dawned on me.  So Gary, what did you do with those frogs after you caught them?  "Threw them back in of course", he said!  It was all for the thrill of the hunt.  Tell me ....how many agents love the thrill of the hunt for the perfect home?

Think about it, all you have to do is think like a kid.  When you do you'll let go of your self-induced limiting thoughts of  'why it won't work' and turn  into..........how can I make it work?  Be like a kid this week.  Try new things, learn new things and be daring.....Take a Risk!

It's often said that we could learn from children if we'd just stop teaching them.

Not a real person
San Diego, CA

Several years ago (maybe more than I care to state), some facility somewhere did some research on creativity and imagination. The children that had not yet been to school won, hands down. I believe the Tom Hanks movie "Big" was based on that research. Now all you have to do is look up the release date for "Big" to find out how many years ago "several years ago" actually is.

What an Joyous and helpful Blessing you are!  You came up with such an Inspired message for each of us to take into our hearts and minds.  I am very grateful for your wisdom, kindness and being the expert in FUN!

I'm going to the Disney movie "UP!" this weekend to experience the very same feelings of utter joy!  I am also tickled to be reminded of the Joy of the Hunt... for the perfect crystal for someone, the right words... the right everything.   And then our wisdom carries the peace of knowing that All of it is perfect and right.  Now to do that with the enthusiasm of joy and imagination...   Thank you again Anna!
