If you are thinking that applying green principles to landscaping is too difficult, complicated, or not really effective at preserving the environment and an important part of going green think again.  Simple practices such as using mulch, limiting the uses of fertilizers, monitoring water uses, managing lawn care, controlling pests, composting waste, and practicing natural landscaping design all has some major positive outcomes including, but not limited to:
