After reading a recent blog about why people leave a website within 3 to 5 seconds I was inspired to talk about conversion rates.
I see it as two-fold:
- Getting visitors to your website (SEO/SEM) and then compelling them to take a certain action (call, email, register)
- Once registered (the most common type of conversions), converting the new registrant into a deal
Anyone who has a website that captures leads knows that many of them are just dead wood - so to speak - but many are potential clients that will actually convert into a sale.
Having a set methodology in place of how to quickly and effectively react to the leads in a timely manner is essential to increasing your 2nd conversion rate - a registrant into a sale.
I can tell you what we did in my office was bring in our web & SEO guru, who is also a licensed Realtor in MA - and an expert in VOW IDX solutions - and he trained us on a methodology to respond to leads in an organized and rapid manner that has caused our conversion rates to go from .5% to over 5%, and now we do about 2+ deals a week from the internet.
