Do you brake when you see a police car?

By
Real Estate Agent with Realty Professionals, Inc.

It seems that I will hit my brake when I see a police car even if I am not doing anything wrong, it seems like a normal thing to do.  Well, this morning I was driving to a listing of mine in Heber Springs on Greer Ferry Lake in Heber Springs, Arkansas.  (http://www.8KingCircle.com) I was entering into the city of Heber Springs and I seen the police car parked on the side of the road.  I automatically hit my brake even though I just left from a stop sign, its a habit.  When getting closer to the police car, I could see someone in the drive seat.  Well, I thought he was sitting there to see if anyone was running the stop sign.  Oh was I wrong, there was a dummy/mannequin in the driver seat.  No real person.  I just kind of laughed to myself and thought, it worked and drove on.  So, if you are fortunate to visit the vactioning town of Heber Springs and you see a police car, you better obey the laws because the next time, there could be a real person in there.  Have a great day!

When someone says Lawrence in a loud voice like your mother when you were doing something she did not like, you jump too! Maine State Trooper Cruisers are parked along the Interstate that way too but you can never take a chance and going the limit is the best bet to avoid a ticket. And we all know we never speed or are late for a closing, showing, listing right?

Yeah I love it when cops do that. I break because I am normally speeding but generally I do not if Im going the speed limit but they do make me nervous.

Brake, situp straight, turn down the radio, hide the beer (kidding). Yep. All of that stuff

Thanks

HAHAHA! We have the mannequin cops in my area too. His and Hers. They are effective for the reason you cite: raising awareness.

If you have real estate signs on your vehicle you probably won't get a speeding ticket. You may get one for an unsafe lane change . . . (giggle)

Yep, we have those mannequin cops as well...something about having had to cut back on actual, "live" human cops...they figure by staging mannequins in areas where there used to be speed traps people will just slow down.  Funny thing is, it does seem to work.  Until people figure out it's not a real cop...But, still, better safe than sorry.  You never know when it WILL be a real cop.

Hey Larry!  What a laugh! and yes, we brake the minute we see a cop car!!  We have to admit we have not seen a "dummy" cop in the car yet, but you will have us looking! Thanks for the heads up!

Wow that is hilarious-I have never seen a mannequin cop in a cop car.  Yes I always always brake when I see a cop even when I am doing nothing wrong and it makes me mad everytime because I try not to do it but always seem to.  (Darn it!!)

Larry, Human nature to brake, but if it wasn't a dummy, by the time you see the cop car it's already too late. Rich

Larry, at least the police car didn't have such a tinted window that you couldn't see the dummy.  He was a pretty good looking dummy, too, wasn't he?  LOL

Hi, Larry

If you go through Hardy Arkansas they do the same thing there. It gets me ever time,  I start hitting that brake, so it works.
