As a home stager I want to work as hard as I can for my clients. This encompasses learning a little about their background story..(are they just getting ready to list the house, has it been sitting on the market for months without any bites.. have they already reduced the price?) and of course executing my design plan in the shortest time frame possible for as little outlay of cash as possibe while still achieving an outstanding end result.. While most agents welcome a stager and truely value what we bring to the real estate transaction I cant help but to feel like I'm stepping on toes sometimes. Maybe they feel that calling in a stager means that they are somehow inadequate... which couldnt be further from the truth. We just handle different ends of the business. It happens most often when an agent is unfamiliar with the process of home staging(which is not that uncommon in the tri-state area). I do believe we can all work together in harmony to bring our customer the best experience with their real estate sale. Once a reluctant agent sees how much faster they can close a deal with staging they are eager to use it again and again. Ive also started offering post staging photographs which can save agents an extra trip to the property. We really can work together!
