"Concerts on the Green" on Fridays in downtown El Cajon

If you leave a comment, Jim will visit your blog and leave a comment.Summer means "Concerts on the Green" in downtown El Cajon at the Prescott Promenade, Main Street between Magnolia Avenue and Claydelle Avenue.

Shows are on Fridays starting at 6:00 p.m. and ending at 8:00 p.m.

Now in its ninth year, "Concerts on the Green" is sponsored by the El Cajon Development Corporation.

Concerts are free, but bench seating is limited, so bring your own chair or blanket.

Food and drinks are allowed, but you can also enjoy the concert and dinner at several restaurants surrounding the park that have outdoor patio seating.

This year's concerts:

  1. June 5 - The Corvettes (doo wop and Motown)
  2. June 12 - Smokestaxx (variety)
  3. June 19 - Sue Palmer - (boogie woogie)
  4. June 26 - Theo & The Zydeco Patrol (Zydeco)
  5. July 3 - JAVA (variety)
  6. July 10 - Diamond is Forever (Neil Diamond tribute)
  7. July 17 - Scott Martin Latin Soul Band (jazz)
  8. July 24 - The Farmers (rock)
  9. July 31 - Bill Magee (blues)
  10. August 7 - The Heroes (variety)
  11. August 14 - The Variations (big band)
  12. August 21 - Eve Selis (roadhouse rock)
  13. August 28 - The Coolrays (Beach Boys tribute)
  14. September 4 - fx5 (variety)

Some reminders:

  • No alcohol in the park.
  • No smoking in the park; smoking is allowed across Main Street next to Downtown Café on Sulzfeld Way.
  • No dogs in the park unless they are Assisted Living dogs.
  • Please be courteous to other attendees and try not to block their view of the stage.
