Apparently, Mother Nature means business over the Southern California skies.  And business is good!  We have been experiencing thunder, lightening and occasional outbursts of light sprinkles.  This would be what they mean when they say "June gloom".

I think the clouds are pretty, Toula.  But that's probably because we aren't in torrential downpours.  If the heavens opened up and dumped on us, well, I'm not gonna lie, I'd like that, too.  We need the rain. :)

Let's certainly hope so, Gary.  That would make the clouds all that MORE beautiful, wouldn't it?

Hi Heather, I'm experiencing the same grey skies here in the San Gabriel Vly.  Time to take advantage of the weather and knock on some doors.

We just had a big BOOM of thunder here a couple of minutes ago, Dee.  It made the dogs start barking.

I think Mother Nature has meant business in Northern NH over the past 2 weeks also... We are waiting for blue skies and heat... Today the blue skies have taken a peek... no heat yet!

Hey Heather,

Great pics!  I'm telling you, we must be very close neighbors! I recognize those mountains.  It was just the strangest weather day here wasn't it?  But I agree completely, WE NEED RAIN!!!  : )

My mom in law who lives in Chula Vista is gonna be so upset if she misses actual rain.  She's in ND for my nephew's graduation.

It seems every afternoon we get hit with a microburst and it dumps on us, then the sun comes out and on we go. Yesterday they predicted beautiful weather no rain, but this morning we could have a few showers in the mountains. Well we got pounded and we are in the valley. Oh to be a weather forcaster. Gather in great pay and be wrong 50% of the time. Great shots by the way.

Oh, Caron.  We need some rain so bad in these here parts.  We're dry as a bone and starting to go into forced water conservation.  Unfortunately, we only got sprinkles, not nice big raindrops.

It was quite loud, Charles.

We need to go out, put the beads and feathers on and start doing raindances out here, Brandy.

Tell your mom-in-law not to worry, Tammy.  It was pretty much all bark and no bite.  Cool lightning, pretty clouds, slight sprinkles here and there.  Nothing else.

Thanks, Randy.  Utah has some beautiful country.  I lived in Salt Lake City for about 3 years when I was 10-13.

Heather, Wow, those are some pretty dramatic pictures.  We've had quite a large amount of rain here also - almost everyday now.

Heather - those are great pics, and the storms were unbelievable. I could not believe how loud the thunder was, it set off car alarms . . .

We SO need rain here in Southern California, Sandy.  I'm happy to see the clouds.  I'd love to see more rain.

Thank you, Patricia.  Since we don't see many storm clouds in Southern California, these are kind of an anomaly and usually enjoyed, especially when it staves off the summer heat.

I was surprised that car alarms didn't go off by me, Sharon.  But, the thunder was definitely loud enough to rile the dogs.  They were barking like mad.

We get alot of sun here, Ann.  So, grey clouds are nice.  It won't be long before they part and the sun beats down on us mercilessly (to the tune of triple digits for weeks).  I'll trade you a week of sunshine for a week of rain.  It sounds like both sides of the country could benefit from the change. :)
