Very nice photo.  I didn't realize that Utah had such georgeous scenery.  I will need to visit one day.

Tony & Darcy,

Sometimes it pays to be lucky. I certainly didn't plan this shot, It is more like I stumbled on it.

Marc,

Here is a link to some of the scenery I have shot over several years in Utah: http://www.cpgtours.com/3949 It is a little long and slow but enjoy. A visit would certainly be in order someday. until then enjoy. Thanks for your comment.

Randy:  That is a pretty weird looking picture, Randy.  I don't even want to tell you what I thought it looked like when I first looked at it... but all I could say to myself was... ewwwwww.   LOL.  So, for me, it is not "beautiful..." just strange.  :)  Thanks for sharing... I think.

What a stunning natural area.  The sheer diversity of areas in our nation is astounding to me.

Natures trap?  I'm not sure I would want to be walking by this rock in a major storm... Great photo

Randy -

This is such a great shot! Beautiful with the sunset in the background. I have not been to Moab but I have heard that it is a great place with alot of beautiful sites and opportunities for recreation.

Randy,

This photo has some mystical aura especially with the time of day you have captured it at.   I was going to say it looks like a nice balancing act from Mother Nature and then I read your comment above stating that it is named "Balanced Rock".   Great photo! I love the colors in the sky an the mountains in the distance which make for a very nice background.  Thanks for sharing.

Karen,

Didn't mean to offend. I'm sorry if it took you somewhere you didn't want to go. This is an amazing rock formation and it is kind of bizarre that it is still standing. Every so often we lose another arch or other formation.

Charles,

Strange isn't it. Really it was from a trip I took a while back to Mars. LOL

Kevin,

It stands up to some pretty good storms all year long.

Randy,

Looks like you might be in Indian country.  We saw a lot of beautiful rock formations similar to this when we visited Utah a few years back.

I could see why you would want to hike that place in the early evening, getting shorts like this when the sun isn't beating down on you would be well worth it.
