Not-So-Speechless Sunday - Goodnight from Red Lodge, Montana

One of the things I enjoy doing more since living in Red Lodge is to look at the stars at night.  It is very difficult to capture and show you this.  No photo can do justice to the feeling you get at looking at a clear sky at night and seeing the multitude of shining stars.  I did manage to take the following photo to show you the peaceful scenery at night time.  Good night and sweet dreams from Red Lodge!

Ah, Red Lodge.

I have fond memories of Red Lodge.  Coming out of Yellowstone, across the Bear Tooth and spending a couple of days at the "lodge" at Red Lodge.

Beautiful.  Just beautiful and very, very friendly folks.

What a beautiful scene. I understand taking pictures at night. I try to get a shot of a full moon on the water and it just don't show it justice.

Thank you for sharing your fond memories of Red Lodge.   The friendliness and hospitality of the people around here is another reason why I moved here.   Don't be surprised if you see people you don't know waiving at you in and around town when they encounter you along the road.  It is a very friendly town as you stated.   I am happy you visited this post and I hope you will visit us again in Red Lodge soon.

There is a feel that can not be captured by the photograph.   It is the feel of smelling fresh air and being amazed at our universe when looking at the stars and thinking that each of them is a sun and that around each of them are many planets we can not see.

 

Monique,

Most of the time, the pictures don't come out as we want them at night.  The moon looks more like a bright star in my photo but the way it turned out, with the low clouds hanging around the mountain, it added a little mystic touch the way it came out in this photo.

 

Konnie,

The changes of temperature can be very sudden during a day at 5,555 feet of altitude or more around here.  It can easily be handled with an extra long sleave t-shirt or jacket.  It is a small thing to cope with for all the beautiful scenery to be seen in and around Red Lodge.  The good thing is that we rarely need air conditioning in the summer months.

I am not sure if it is 50% or a little bit more.  I never noticed stars at night as much as since I have been living in Red Lodge.  Thank you for your comment.  I realize the luck and I am grateful to live away from pollution.
