Wrongfully Switched Deed...

By
Real Estate Agent with Weichert Realtors

Dear fellow active rain members, I have a question I'm sure someone here can answer for me. I have a friend who allowed her fiancé to purchase a couple of investment properties in her name & with her credit.

To make a long story short, the homes are now in foreclosure. I put one of the houses on the market to see if we could short sale it, but we've recently found out that the fiancé had the deeds switched out of her and name without her knowledge.

My question is would we still be able to sell the house though the deed is no longer in her name? She doesn't want to take legal action against her fiancé for wrongfully switching the deed out of her name, but she'd like to save her credit from foreclosure. What are her options...?
