Dazzling lights, erupting volcanoes, pirate ships and sky-high roller coasters are what greet you when you first enter into one of the most exciting cities on the planet-Las Vegas. As you travel through this sparkling oasis in the desert, you will find that our city has a multitude of exquisite dining, gaming, entertainment, and recreational opportunities-that can only be found in Las Vegas.

With all of its glitz and glitter, our town really has very humble beginnings. The name "Las Vegas," is Spanish for "The Meadows." Although dry and arid in appearance, the valley has a rich network of artesian springs running beneath the surface. In the early 1800's, this area was a stop for travelers making their way to Los Angeles along the Spanish Trail. They would stop to refresh themselves at the spring wells. Over time, the word about the area grew, and everyone from Mormon settlers to railroad tycoons helped to form this "watering hole" into a town. With the advent of the railroad, and a boom in building and business ventures, this small, unassuming patch of land became the city of Las Vegas on May 15, 1905.

As Las Vegas celebrated its Centennial in 2005, it is now, more than ever, the must-see vacation destination for millions of visitors. Our town offers something for everyone-world-class restaurants, top-name entertainment, championship golf courses, relaxing and rejuvenating day spas, stimulating night clubs, exciting casinos, charming wedding chapels-all waiting to be discovered and explored-by you!

Outdoor enthusiasts will find a multitude of recreational activities to keep them occupied. Water and jet skiing, boating and swimming are available at near-by Lake Mead, formed in the 1930's by the creation of Hoover Dam. Hiking more to your liking? Then take off for a day of exploration at the Valley of Fire. If you feel like kicking up some dirt and exploring the valley on horseback, then off-road mountain trail rides offer modern-day cowboys an up-close look at native wildlife and plants, as well as spectacular views of Las Vegas. Feel like a day of swooshing through snowy mountains? Then head to the northwest to Mt. Charleston, where you can ski at beautiful and serene Lee Canyon during the winter. Or, take to the air and charter a helicopter for the day-to experience breath-taking views of Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon.

It is no secret that Las Vegas is the gaming capital of the world. With dozens of casinos situated throughout the valley, from elegant to the sublime, there are plenty of options for those who want to take a chance at the blackjack table or have a spin at the roulette wheel. Even though the gaming industry brings in millions of dollars annually, Las Vegas has also become a center for non-gaming industries. This has to do with an abundant work force, favorable climate and no state taxes.

Every month, thousands of people move to Las Vegas so they, too, can enjoy the amenities we have to offer. We have beautifully-appointed master-planned communities. Community-oriented parks and sporting facilities offer year-round entertainment. Shopping malls are so much more than stores lined together-they are Grand Canals, Forum Shops, and Desert Passages. As our economy continues to boom and our valley continues to grow, there will be so much more for those who choose to live here. And with all that our city has to offer, the dream of owning your own home is very much within your reach. Las Vegas is the ideal place to live and work, to raise a family-to simply call "home."

Let me help you realize that dream by finding the perfect place for you to live. All of this can be yours, too!

Can't argue a single point.  Las Vegas is typically a blast for me.  I haven't been in a few months...I think I'm suffering from withdrawal :)
