two vieWs With and Without - Take Two

By
Education & Training

I took in all the suggestions that I received from the earlier post (tWo vieWs With and Without) and I played with the photos to generate the following 3 photos (2 modified photos from the first photo and 1 modified photo from the second photo).

Spending a little more time on touching up photos can make an ordinary photo look extraordinary.  I never played with my photos in my earlier posts besides cropping.  You can expect a little bit more touch ups and fun effects with future photos in my post.  Thank you for all the feedback received in my earlier post!

Gerry...Nice!  What software do you use?  Just wondering if it is affordable or a more expensive suite like photoshop...

Chanda,

Thanks.  I used Picassa.  You can actually get for free.  I learned about thanks to Mike Jones of Tucson, AZ.   You can go at his blog and get a copy (link in on the right hand side).

Hmmm...now I can't decide!  I DO love the sepiatone, but I also love the newly tweaked color on the bottom shot, now!  Both very nice, and, again, each serve their own purpose! Nice work Gerry!

Gerry - The enhancements to both original photos add a lot.  The first photo is brighter and I like how you cropped out the top inch of blue sky (I hadn't referred to the excess blue sky in my original comments.  In the third photo (which was your second photo, the colour of the flowers is much nicer.

I vote for #3 - very nice Gerry. I think that's lupine?  It's a very beautiful color and gives the photo some more depth.

Sheldon,

Thank you for the feedback.  I love the 'pop' too in the last photo.

Cheryl,

Thank you for your comments and your input in the creation of these weaked photos.   I appreciate the encouragement coming from a member whose photos are a joy to view and a great proof of the detailed eye you have which is an asset for your job.

Marc,

Thanks.   Interesting how just spending a few minutes for each picture, added a lot to them.  :)

Mary,

Thank you for the decisive vote.  I think it makes #3 the winner!  It may end up being the cover for the postcard sent out to our clients for the month of July.  The flower seen in photo #3 is indeed lupine.

Gerry - very nice editting, and it does make a difference. I vote for number three as well, the flowers in the foreground are beautiful.

Sharon,

Thank you for your nice comments.  The lupines are blooming all over this area and they tend to thrive on hills covered with sage brushes.

Gerry, those are very nice. I love sepia, I use that for many of my photos that are hung up in my living room, most of those are old barns. The third is spectacular! I use a very sweet program myself, very cheap. It works for tweaking, not the fun type of move this there things though.
