Tottenville is the Southern most location of Staten Island, New York City and New York State. Tottenville was named in 1869 after Gilbert Totten a local American Revolutionary War hero. The area of Tottenville is approximately 1.7 square miles. Tottenville is bound on the West side by Arthur Kill and on the East side by Raritan Bay which opens into the Atlantic Ocean.
At the tip of Tottenville is the Conference House built in 1678 by the Billop family. On September 11, 1776, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams & Edward Rutledge met here with Lord Howe at His request in an unsuccessful effort to halt the American Revolution.
Today you can stroll the Conference house and its winding paths, and enjoy the many beautiful views and fresh air and Natural surroundings.
Tottenville is also home to many Victorian homes which are unique to the South Shore, and area of Staten Island that was developed much later.

Page Avenue is the business district. Brand new shopping center Tottenville Commons has every thing you need for shopping. Including my office Prudential Appleseed Realty, top Tomato carries fruit and vegetables and various mom and pop shops.
Further west on Page is the on ramp to the Outer Bridge Crossing or The Korean Parkway will take you to the Staten Island Mall and 440 north will lead to the Verrazano bridge.
As a whole I could describe Tottenville as a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood with a small town feel. But, Close enough to the city to take in the glamour and glitz of NYC.
